Nichimoku Pallet produces and repairs wood pallets for papermaking. Currently, the company ships about 800,000 pallets annually to Nippon Paper Group mills. Domestic needle leaf trees (Sakhalin fir and larch) are the raw materials. The company is fully equipped with the latest automatic nailing devices and member drying facilities and strive for thorough quality management, cost reductions, and stable product supply, and meet the needs of customers.

Among the 800,000 pallets shipped, new pallets make up about 60% to 70% and others are made by recycling collected pallets. Wood pallets for papermaking do not complete their lifecycles once they were made, but by collecting and repairing pallets damaged from repeated use, they can be reused. Heavily damaged lumber will ultimately be used as wood fuel, and the iron nails used will be recycled as well. Wood pallets are products with less of an environmental load for which wood resources can be effectively used.
